She nodded and piled her hair on top of her head, keeping it out of the water. “You are a life saver my friend.” Her body is hidden by the bubbles now and she closed her eyes. “It was set.” She spoke softly, with conviction. “There was no way it wasn’t.”
Steph scrapes her teeth over her bottom lip. “Life saving is not only a job it’s a lifestyle,” she jokes, a lopsided smile taking over her face. “The authorities will figure that out, it’s catching who set it that might be the problem. Fires tend to take evidence with them if they aren’t caught fast enough.”
She sighed. “Yeah.. I know. It was someone who knew I would be coming back tonight though.. It started in the back corner by my bedroom.”
