Whatever she had been expecting, it wasn’t that. Rising from the couch, she was quiet for a while, before she turned and looked at him. “Have you thought about what this would entail, Pete?”
She was old enough to be his mother for crying out loud, but then that didn’t Thor and Jane, did it? She was deep in thought for a moment before looking at him .”You’re serious? This isn’t Tony or Clint putting you up to this to make me look like an idiot?” Again.
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. “If this is a bad joke, I swear to everything holy, I will kill all three of you.” Her dark eyes opened and she relaxed. “I wasn’t going to say anything because you’re half my age, but, I think I love you too, Pete.”
He looked up at her with extreme nervousness when he saw her reaction. This was genuine from her to freak out like that but yeah if she was around of his age then things were different but this was something else.
To be honest, Peter did felt a strange that he developed feeling for someone who was lot older than him. When she looked up at her, he shook his head and began to bite his nails to show how nervous and bit scared he was. “No no, those two didn’t put me up into something like this.”
When she closed her eyes, he scratched the side of the neck looking at her with an awkward expression. “Listen, to be honest, I felt strange that I developed feelings for someone who is actually half of your age. When I realized that I researched on internet that infact there are some couples in our country in US where the guy is younger than a woman, seriously. That’s why I thought to tell you the truth.” When she confessed the same, he got surprised with his eyes widen and his jaws parted a bit as he couldn’t believe at first. “W-What?…Wait! What?..Are you serious, Sam?…You feel the same for me?”
She gave him a ‘really?’ look, then nodded. “You know me, Pete. I never say something unless I mean it.” She sighed. “Do any of the others know yet?” She rubbed her face, wishing her life wasn’t complicated for ones.
“Daddy was younger than Momma when they married and had Elliot and me.” She murmured, walking over to the kitchen to grab a drink. “Do you want a sodapop, Petey?” She herself grabbed a beer, but as Peter was still under twenty one she wouldn’t even offer it to him.
