There wasn’t time to think or warn him. The sniper had already fired and she darted behind him, the blast going into her stomach.
A small gasp and she’s falling through the air, blood blooming on her shirt under her jet pack.

Tony spun on the spot, mouth open in a shout that never came, hand outstretched as she fell. The gunshot echoed off the buildings around them but he barely heard it. He fired with one of his hand cannons, knocking the sniper off the building before darting down to catch her. Granted, he’s only got about a quarter of the suit on, but it’s enough. He grabs the front of her pack, slowing her fall and they both landed with a heavy thud.
She grunted, conscious enough the curl up and wimper, the motion causing the blood flowing from her back to gush more.
The black woman blinked hard. “Tony?” She rasped. “Are you alright?”
